Experience

With more than twenty years of experience in the field of customs and international trade, Marianne Artusio-Chenot has built a well-established expertise at the intersection of regulation, strategy, and operational practice. Passionate about organizational challenges and the optimization of trade flows, she supports companies in mastering and securing their customs compliance obligations, while optimizing their customs-related financial performance.

She began her career at GEFCO, where she met Karine Bellony, marking the first steps of both a lasting friendship and a long-term professional collaboration. There, she discovered the tangible challenges of fiscal representation and customs compliance before continuing her professional journey at ALIS International (Crystal Group), and later at Dow AgroSciences, then in the Dow Chemical Company, where she managed customs compliance for France as well as for several European sites.

In 2019, Marianne founded Customs Engineering Solutions in France, an independent consultancy dedicated to customs engineering, auditing, and training. Through this firm, she assists industrial and commercial enterprises in managing their international flows, achieving AEO certification, and implementing effective customs strategies.

Alongside her activities in France, she joined VAT Solutions Luxembourg in 2025 as a partner, with the aim of developing an integrated VAT & Customs service offering capitalizing on the natural complementarity between these two areas of expertise. Her approach, both rigorous and pragmatic, enables VAT Solutions to provide clients with a comprehensive 360° perspective on VAT and customs matters.

Education and qualifications

Marianne holds a postgraduate degree (DESS) in European Law with a specialization in International Law from the University of Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC). She is also an accredited ICC France trainer for Incoterms 2020.
